The Make-Up Hook-Up

Ladies, we all have our favorite brand of make-up...

Almay, Clinique, Neutrogena, Estee Lauder... we know it, we love it, but we certainly pay for it.

My favorite hot-spot for make-up (my brand is Almay SmartShade) is Big Lots... for the price of one tube at Target- I got three (yes three) tubes of foundation PLUS the smart concealer. How can you beat that? Places like Big Lots and Ocean State Job Lots carry brand name make-up for a third of the cost simply because the chain stores were overstocked or they discontinued carrying that specific color/brand/type of make-up. I will admit, it is hit or miss... but when you do hit, stock up because there is no guarantee that it will be there again in the future.

Big Lots and Ocean State are also good for stocking up on hair products, brushes, hair accessories, etc. Take a trip in the next few days and see what you can find. As always, don't buy something for the sake of it costing $2.00. Make sure that you love it and you will use it- otherwise, save you money for another Frugalista purchase.

  2. LOVE Big Lots I've been shopping at the one by my house forever! We don't have an Ocean State but we do have Hudson's which I frequent as well. It sounds like the same type of store you are talking about that carries similar items. Never pay full price for ANYTHING ladies save those pennies! Love the blog too and ty for the invite!
